Through our surveying of previous DDLM conferences we have found that there is a need for a Community Network Based Planning (CNBP) approach to enhance the DDLM conference plans and design. In order for the present structure and operational system of DDLM to keep up with the changing social, political and economic needs of Latinas in Michigan, an accurate needs assessment of Michigan Latinas is needed. The evolving needs and characteristics of Latinas as a population group demands that events like DDLM acutely assess the target community in order to effectively keep up with its demographic and ethnographic changes.
